Professional Basketball Player Sues Reebok over Endorsement Contract.

Sep. 8--With more than 400 pairs of basketball shoes in his basement, Portland Trailblazers forward Shawn Kemp was once dubbed the "Imelda Marcos of the NBA." But Kemp's attachment -- or lack of it -- to his footwear is now the central issue in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit pending in federal court in Boston.

Yesterday, Kemp, 31, took the stand for several hours to argue that Canton-based Reebok unfairly terminated his endorsement contract last year. He is seeking more than $4 million from Reebok, the amount Kemp says he's owed for the two years that remained on his contract, which required him to wear Reebok's sneakers both on and off the basketball court.
