Schwinn/GT Sold for $151 Million.

Sep. 13--DENVER--Pacific Cycle and Direct Focus will pay $151 million for all of Schwinn/GT Corp.'s assets.

The deal -- expected to close by Sept. 21 -- will send the well-known cycling division of Schwinn/GT from Boulder to Pacific Cycle's Madison, Wis., headquarters. The fitness operations will stay, the new owners said.

The two-month bankruptcy process held many interests in the balance, including whether Schwinn products will move into mass merchant channels and whether Huffy Corp. could jockey more market share from Pacific Cycle.

Local jobs also are also at risk.
