New Mexico-Based Eclipse Aviation Gets Order for 1,000 Air-Taxi Jets.

Sep. 18--ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--Eclipse Aviation, the Albuquerque-based jet maker, announced on Monday that it has received an order for 1,000 of its Eclipse 500 jets by an upstart air taxi company in Florida.
The order -- if executed -- would easily be the largest order for civilian aircraft in aviation history, industry experts say, and would be worth hundreds of millions of dollars for Eclipse.
Delivery of the first jets to Fort Lauderdale-based Nimbus Group is expected to occur in 2004 and would stretch out five years after that.
