Combs to Seek Second Term as Texas Agriculture Commissioner.

Sep. 21--AUSTIN, Texas--Susan Combs, a part-time rancher, former prosecutor and former legislator, announced Thursday that she will seek a second term as Texas agriculture commissioner.
Combs, a Republican and the first woman to hold the agriculture post, said that the recent terrorist attacks on the East Coast have made the role of farmers and ranchers more important than ever.
"In the wake of last week's horrific events, it is even more vital that we have a safe and secure food system for Americans, as part of our defense strategy," she said.
