Siemens Westinghouse Decides to Build Fuel Cell Factory in Munhall, Pa.

Sep. 26--Ending a three-state economic development derby, Siemens Westinghouse Power Corp. has decided to build a $122 million fuel cell factory in Munhall, fill it with as many as 500 employees and use it to provide an alternative source of energy for utilities, hospitals and office buildings.

A $6.6 million incentive package cobbled together by state and local officials sealed the deal, which is scheduled to be announced today.

"It would be a great coup for us," Allegheny County Executive Jim Roddey said yesterday. "It would be the best news we have had in a very, very long time."
