Ford, General Motors Display New Vehicles at Texas State Fair.

Sep. 29--Once again, a big Ford pickup spins slowly in the sky at the State Fair of Texas, looming far above archrival Chevrolet's display.
This year, however, the "Tower of Power" -- a 42-foot tall structure shaped like an oil derrick and topped by an F-350 Super Duty -- probably packs a little less symbolic punch.
Although Ford's full-size F-series pickup is still the nation's top-selling truck -- as it has been for more than 20 years -- the company has lost truck market share, some of which has been claimed by a resurgent General Motors. In fact, heading into the final quarter of the year, the two giants are locked in a dead heat for national pickup...
