Northwest Airlines to Install New Security Devices on Cockpit Doors.

Oct. 4--Northwest Airlines Corp. said Wednesday it would install new flight deck door security devices on its entire fleet as well as resume its Internet check-in service.
Northwest said its door enhancement program would begin immediately with priority given to aircraft that will serve the recently reopened Reagan National Airport in Washington later this week.
Northwest joins American, TWA and US Airways in announcing new cockpit security measures. American has said it will install reinforcing bars behind its cockpit doors.
Northwest spokesman Mary Beth Schubert declined to say what device it will use, but "we will have a similar...
