Dell Computer Makes Deal to Resell Storage Systems Produced by EMC.

Oct. 23--Dell Computer Corp. made another move up the technology food chain Monday by announcing an alliance with storage giant EMC Corp. to resell some of its hardware and software.
Under the five-year, multibillion-dollar deal, Dell will resell EMC's midrange Clariion storage systems, a move that will give the Round Rock-based company a foothold in a market dominated by Compaq Computer Corp.
EMC gets the benefit of Dell's huge marketing machine, which reaches millions of small and medium-size businesses worldwide.
