Oct. 25--AT&T Corp. has set a late-November deadline for formal offers for its cable-TV and high-speed Internet division, a person familiar with the situation said yesterday.
AT&T officials declined to comment.
Philadelphia-based Comcast Corp. has made the only formal offer so far to buy the division, called AT&T Broadband.
Comcast declined to comment yesterday. A Comcast spokeswoman noted that the company signed a confidentiality agreement with AT&T.
Jim Stroud, senior analyst with the telecommunications research firm Carmel Group, said AT&T may have set the deadline to "get more interested parties" to bid on Broadband.
