Nov. 7--Universal Orlando's No. 1 executive, Felix Mussenden, quit abruptly on Tuesday, two years after becoming president of the Central Florida attraction.
Mussenden's departure, without notice, caught other Universal officials by surprise. Mussenden left "to pursue other interests," Universal spokesman Jim Canfield said. "We wish him well," Canfield added.
Mussenden said he doesn't yet have another job or other career move lined up.
"I'll be announcing something soon," he said.
He would not comment on whether his departure is related to the current tourism downturn.
