Economics Spurring Exodus from Moosic, Pa., Special-Care Home.

Nov. 15--MOOSIC, Pa.--Janine Kubasko-Starinsky has been running the Oakwood Terrace care facility for four years.

Since the summer, her job has never been more difficult, she said.

Kubasko-Starinksy, the facility's administrator, estimates she has lost about 10 percent of her residents in the past 6 months because escalating health-care costs have made it difficult for residents to stay at the home.

She sometimes must discharge residents when their funds run out. "And with the economy today, it's happening more and more often."
