Nov. 22--FEW EMPLOYERS EXPECT MORE PAYROLL: Just 13 percent of Anchorage-area employers expect their payrolls to increase in the first quarter of next year, according to a survey by Manpower Inc., a global staffing and work force mangement service. Thirty percent said they expect fewer workers and 57 percent intend to stay at current staffing levels, Manpower said. A year ago, employers were more optimistic, with 33 percent planning work force additions and 37 percent cutbacks, Manpower said. The Anchorage numbers compared to the following results nationwide: 16 percent said they would add staff, 16 percent planned reductions, 61 percent foresaw no change and 7 percent were undecided, Manpower...
