Congress Questions Plans for Mississippi-Based Firm to Supply Egyptian Navy.

Nov. 28--Some members of Congress are concerned about the Bush administration's plans to provide the Egyptian navy with four patrol craft, manufactured by Gulfport, Miss.-based Halter Marine Inc., outfitted with highly accurate anti-ship missiles.

Anil Raj, chief operating officer of Friede Goldman Halter, the parent company of Halter Marine, said the dispute over the Harpoon Block II missiles, manufactured by Boeing, is "regular sparring" and will not affect the shipyard's more than $400 million contract with the Egyptian government.

"We're not concerned this will scuttle the issue," Raj said. "This deals with only one type of weapon that goes on the ship....
