Acton, Mass., Telecom Firm Makes Big Sale to Japan's NTT Communications.

Nov. 29--Appian Communications of Acton is announcing today a multimillion-dollar sale of its gear to NTT Communications, Japan's dominant telephone company and one of the world's top five phone giants.
NTT will be using the equipment to provide advanced voice and data services to business customers. The financial terms are not being disclosed, but Appian chief executive Mick Scully said the 118-person start-up has already begun recording revenues from the deal.
