OPINION: AT&T's Disruption in Internet Service Demands Subscriber Outcry.

Dec. 2--I'm mad as hell at losing my high-speed Internet access from AT&T Broadband, even if the disruption turns out to be temporary, and I say cable modem users should demand an immediate response from elected officials.

This is a clear case of telecommunications deregulation run amok. A service as vital to our connected economy as Internet access should not be switched off overnight.

I'm appalled that no representative for At Home subscribers was in bankruptcy court Friday in San Francisco, where legions of lawyers representing the failed Excite@Home, its creditors and AT&T were playing a game of chicken with the economic well-being of several million...
