Cable Company Proposes Rate Changes for Clark County, Nev., Subscribers.

Dec. 6--Cox Cable, the franchised cable television service in Clark County, intends to lower its basic rates but boost its premium channel rates on March 1.

The company has filed notice with area government that it intends to cut the fee for its basic service, channels 2-17, to $9.70 from $11.42. The cost of renting a converter will rise to $3.75 from $3.35 a month.

However, installation charges will increase. The biggest installation fee change is for new or unwired homes, and it will climb to $39.95 from $20.50. Fees for other types of installation will increase by lesser amounts.
