Large Virginia Car Dealership Closes Salem Operation.

Dec. 11--One of Virginia's largest car dealerships has closed its Roanoke Valley operation, citing consolidation as the reason.

Last week Shelor Motor Co. closed its Salem Motor Mile used-car dealership at 1725 West Main St. in Salem, and it plans to sell the land to another business, but not another car dealer.

"We just need all of our resources to be here," company vice president David Hagan said from the Christiansburg headquarters. "If we put that effort here, we're getting 100 times the results."
