Universal Studios Florida Considers Closing Dismantling King Kong Ride.

Dec. 12--King Kong could be playing out his final scene in Orlando.

This time around, the giant ape might not have to go out in a hail of bullets atop New York skyscrapers, the way he did in the movies.

Universal Studios is looking into whether to replace the high-profile "King Kong Kongfrontation" ride with another attraction -- possibly one based on Universal Pictures' forthcoming movie, The Scorpion King, according to sources at the attraction who asked for anonymity.

Kong features a menacing 30-foot-tall audioanimatron version of the giant who first starred on the big screen in 1933.
