Dec. 19--The ongoing ramifications of Sept. 11 have been felt far and wide, but Southern California's economy appears to be in better position to withstand short-term recessionary trends than it was during the 1990s, said Mark Pisano, executive director of the Southern California Association of Governments.
"With Southern California's tremendous reliance on travel, tourism and trade as a key part of the regional economy, it is inevitable that our region will endure some significant economic impact, at least in the short term," Pisano said at a recent economic presentation.
