Parent Company Evaluates Management Buyout of Burger King Chain.

Dec. 21--Wine and spirits giant Diageo is considering a UKpound 1.5 billion management buyout of its Burger King chain.
The proposal has been put to group chief executive Paul Walsh by American John Dasburg, boss of the Miami-based Whopper chain since August 2000.
Highly-rated Dasburg, 58, used to run North West Airlines and knows the food and service industries from working at Marriott Hotels.
The pressure on Diageo to exit the food business has increased now that America's Federal Trade Commission has approved its joint bid with Pernod Ricard for Seagram's wine and spirit business.
