West Virginia Water Company Asks Public Service Commission to Approve Sale.

Dec. 21--West Virginia-American Water Co. asked the West Virginia Public Service Commission on Thursday to approve the $7.6 billion sale of American Water Co. to a major German water, power and gas company, saying the sale would "result in substantial public benefits for West Virginia customers."
Chris E. Jarrett, president of West Virginia-American, said Thursday, "We would hope to get approval as soon as we could. But I am hesitant to put any timeline on it."
If the sale is approved, American Water will become a subsidiary of Thames Water Aqua Holdings, the largest water company in Great Britain. Thames is a wholly owned subsidiary of RWE...
