Dec. 24--THE FLORIDA PITCH: Could the USA Network find a new home in Orlando? The e-mails are flying fast and furious over such a possibility since Vivendi Universal and USA Networks announced they were merging their entertainment businesses. The cable channel does most of its production in California and New York. But that hasn't stopped some locals from floating the idea that the network would be welcomed by the region's film-and-TV community. Said one: "I'd like to give [USA Network chief] Barry Diller another reason to come to Florida." Diller's USA Networks also owns the Home Shopping Network in St. Petersburg.
