Jan. 3--With the Internet glory days long since vanished, online job services are establishing themselves as survivors, even as legions of their dot-com brethren have collapsed and piles of Internet-bubble riches have evaporated.
To be sure, the economic downturn that brought so many Internet dreamers to their knees have hurt both online services and newspapers as U.S. corporations slashed their payrolls, halted their hiring machines and curtailed their spending on recruitment advertising this past year.
