Search Committee Settles on Top Choice for CEO of Boston Medical Center.

Jan. 3--Paul Levy, the former director of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, is the top choice for chief executive of struggling Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, several hospital sources said yesterday.

The sources said that a 12-member search committee has settled on Levy as their number one candidate but is discussing with him the specifics of the job. The committee is expected to recommend Levy's hiring tomorrow to the hospital board of trustees. The board of CareGroup, the parent company of the Harvard teaching hospital, is scheduled to vote on Sunday.
