Gap Expanding Store in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Mall; Lerner New York May Close.

Jan. 5--Some changes are coming to the Wyoming Valley Mall: A new Gap store is being readied despite tough times for its parent company and the Lerner New York store is possibly closing.
Chuck Balko, general manager of the Wyoming Valley Mall, said a formal announcement about the Gap's expansion and other changes at the mall is expected in the next two weeks.
San Francisco-based Gap Inc. will be expanding its mall store, which is located near Kaufmann's, Balko said.
Based on information from Gap Inc.'s Web site, the design of the outdated Gap store in the Wyoming Valley Mall doesn't match corporate guidelines for potential store growth....
