Peoria, Ill.-Area Consumer Confidence Falls Again.

Jan. 8--PEORIA, Ill.--Tri-County area consumers continued to be less positive about the economy during the latter part of 2001, according to the latest Peoria-Pekin Index of Cosumer Sentiment compiled by Bradley University.
The index, based on surveys conducted in the fall, fell nine points from last spring and was more than 21 points below the record high index of 110.3 set just a year ago.
The latest index of 88.7 was the lowest in nearly a decade. Yet it is right at the benchmark between consumer sentiment being good and not so good, said Bernard Goitein, director of economic research at Bradley.
And area consumers are more positive about the economy...
