Home Depot Moves Forward on Groveland, Fla., Trucking Facility.

Jan. 6--GROVELAND, Fla.--The recession has forced layoffs and stalled company projects, but Home Depot is still forging ahead with its $12 million trucking facility that could produce about 250 jobs over the next couple of years.
"At a time when the economy has been on the downturn, to have new jobs is really great," said County Commissioner Welton Cadwell. "This is very significant because we need to create jobs."
Lenny Kapiloff, Home Depot's divisional merchandise manager, said the 121,392-square-foot facility that will be used to streamline vendor deliveries to more than 80 Home Depot stores throughout the state will open in February. He said the company...
