California Energy Panel Gives Favorable Word to Burbank's Power-Plant Plan.

Jan. 11--BURBANK, Calif.--While a number of companies and public entities have withdrawn applications to build new power plants, Burbank is moving steadily forward with its Magnolia Power Project.
City officials were notified Thursday by the California Energy Commission that their application had received initial favorable review in an exhaustive 400-page-plus assessment.
"The bottom line of the summary states the project conforms with all laws, ordinances, regulations and standards," said Fred Fletcher, assistant general manager of Burbank Water & Power, who spent the Thanksgiving holiday working with his staff on the project's paperwork.
