Massachusetts Company Joins Australian Developing Mine-Detection Device.

Jan. 17--LAS VEGAS--Bruce Candy sat in his exhibitor's room at the Consumer Electronics Show last week, displaying the sonic splendors of his new stereo amplifier. But in between musical demos, he had his mind on another subject -- land mines.
Besides designing some of the world's best hi-fi electronics for an Australian company called Halcro, Candy also designs some of the world's best mine detectors for another Australian company called Minelab.
Minelab recently joined forces with a Waltham-based outfit called CyTerra Corp. to build a device that could revolutionize minesweeping in many war-ravaged parts of the world.
