Denver-Based Apartment Management Company to Remove Lead Paint from Homes.

Jan. 17--Denver-based Apartment Investment and Management Co. will test and remove lead-based paint hazards from more than 130,000 apartments nationwide in the largest-ever lead disclosure settlement.
In Colorado, 3,525 apartments will be tested as part of the voluntary settlement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Environmental Protection Agency.
Apartment Investment and Management will also pay $129,580 in fines for allegedly failing to warn tenants that their homes may contain lead-based paint hazards.
