Jan. 20--A redesigned Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan arrives in the fall as a 2003 model with evolutionary styling changes, new safety features and a choice of V-6 or V-8 engines. The E-Class fits between the smaller C-Class and flagship S-Class sedans in size. Prices for the redesigned E-Class will be announced closer to introduction. Initially, the sedan will be available as the E320 with a 3.2-liter V-6 and the E500 with a 5-liter V-8. A wagon and high-performance AMG model will follow in 2003. New features include electronic braking, front air bags that deploy with lower force in less severe collisions and sensors that adjust the seat belt tensioners based on crash severity.
