Ocean Spray Cranberries, Nestle S.A. Reach Deal on Bottling, Purchases.

Jan. 26--Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc. said yesterday that it has entered a "long-term strategic operations alliance" with the US division of Nestle S.A., a Swiss food-and-beverage giant known for such US brands as Lean Cuisine, Butterfinger, and Alpo.
Lakeville-based Ocean Spray will use its plants to bottle two Nestle beverage lines, Libby's Juicy Juice and Libby's Kerns Nectars. The companies also plan to join forces to buy packaging and ingredients.
Terms were not disclosed.
The alliance should help both companies cut costs at a time when a cranberry glut has depressed prices for growers.
