Youngster Demographic Kills Push for `Classic' Shows on Disney Channel.

Jan. 28--Some Disney fans are lobbying to get more older "classic" Walt Disney Co. movies and television shows aired on the Disney Channel before midnight.

They claim Disney's parks could benefit from increased sales of merchandise tied into historic viewing fare.

Most of what Disney broadcast officials refer to as the company's "vault" shows, such as Davy Crockett and Zorro, are televised in the wee hours between 1 a.m. and dawn.

"I'm not saying they should get rid of all their modern programming, just mix in a variety of cartoon shorts and old episodes of Walt Disney's shows," said Daniel Mart, an Orlando viewer and collector of Disney memorabilia....
