Little-Known Thai Life-Insurance Business to Spread Wings into Market.

Jan. 28--A life insurance business that has been operating for 56 years with remarkably few people aware of its existence for most of that time is about to make a major thrust into the market.
With business posting substantial growth, the unit of the Government Savings Bank is looking at breaking out its life insurance operation into a new company -- now unofficially called GS Life Assurance Co -- to carve out a share in a lucrative market that has recorded double-digit percentage annual growth in recent years.
