Houston-Based Natural-Gas Compression Firm Takes Hit in Enron Aftermath.

Jan. 29--Hanover Compressor Services, a major provider of natural gas compression services and equipment, is getting thrashed on Wall Street for minor ties to Enron Corp. and suggestions of off-balance-sheet financing.

Its stock reached a 52-week low of $13.55 per share in trading Monday, closing on the New York Stock Exchange at $14.05, a loss of $2.

Trading of the Houston-based company's stock was halted Friday after a news columnist elaborated on the Enron issue, the partnerships and Hanover's ties.
