Jan. 30--OGE ENERGY SUFFERS FOURTH-QUARTER LOSS: OGE Energy Corp. reported Tuesday a fourth-quarter operating loss of 3 cents a share, compared with a profit of 9 cents a share in the same quarter of 2000.
Oklahoma City-based OGE Energy is the parent company of Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. and Enogex Inc.
Including a pre-tax accounting charge of $6 million in the fourth quarter, OGE Energy reported a net loss of $6.3 million, or 8 cents a share, compared with net income of $7.2 million, or 9 cents a share, in the year-ago quarter. The charge was for a $6 million write-down of the value of certain natural gas assets.
