Jan. 31--HOUSTON -- The battle over Enron's assets is rapidly becoming a war between the states.
Florida, California, New York, Georgia, Washington and Ohio are among the states wrestling to represent investors in a huge class action lawsuit against Enron, its former officers and the scandalized auditing firm Arthur Andersen.
Much has been written about the losses suffered by Enron workers. But an estimated $1.5 billion was lost by state retirement and other public funds across the country. Florida's pension lost by far the most -- well over $300 million.
