GAO to Sue White House over Access to Energy Task Force's Records.

Jan. 31--WASHINGTON--One day after President Bush and Congress made State of the Union pledges to work together, congressional investigators and White House lawyers girded for a courtroom showdown over the Bush energy task force.

The General Accounting Office, the investigative arm of Congress, notified members that it will sue the White House for task force records of meetings with people and groups outside of government, including executives of the now-disgraced Enron Corp. It would be the first such lawsuit in the GAO's 80-year history.
