Riverside, Calif., Recreational Vehicle Firm Posts Slight Quarterly Increase.

Feb. 1--RIVERSIDE, Calif.--Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. said sales were up slightly in its fiscal third quarter, compared with a year earlier, but warned Thursday that it expects to post its seventh consecutive quarterly loss.
Still, analysts said Fleetwood's preliminary sales increase in the quarter ended Jan. 27 was good news considering that the recreational vehicle and manufactured home industries have struggled.
"The tone is, things are firming up," said Michael Jaffe, an analyst who tracks Fleetwood for Standard & Poor's in New York. "I wasn't expecting booming (figures), but sales are moving upward from depressed levels."
