NASA Hopes to Cut Some Costs by Moving Work to Florida from California.

Feb. 6--TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--NASA is moving hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars worth of space shuttle work from Southern California to Kennedy Space Center in an effort to cut costs.
The move, announced Tuesday in Tallahassee by NASA administrator Sean O'Keefe, will add about 235 high-wage jobs to a Central Florida economy still reeling from recession and the effects of last September's terrorist attacks.
Florida's gain is a loss for a Boeing manufacturing plant in Palmdale, Calif., northeast of Los Angeles.
