Fleet Credit Card Services Hopes to Add Customers in Economic Downturn.

Feb. 8--Fleet Credit Card Services is flying in the face of recession and mounting losses, hoping to increase revenue and add customers.
Despite months of unpredictable national retail spending and consumer confidence, the nation's 10th-largest credit card issuer plans to build its business through new types of credit cards, the company's chief executive said Thursday.
Patrick Coll, who took on the top job at Fleet in November, was making his first visit to the company's 700-employee Colorado Springs customer service and collections center operation.
