Recreational-Vehicle Industry Accelerates in New Era.

Feb. 9--The recreational vehicle industry hopes for a jump-start recovery in 2002.
Favorable gas prices and interest rates, along with improving consumer confidence, could boost RV sales this year, analysts and manufacturers said. That would be good news for one of Inland Southern California's signature industries, which includes well-known companies such as Fleetwood Enterprises, National R.V. and Thor Industries.
"I think the market is in a rebound," said Tom Walworth, spokesman for Statistical Surveys Inc., a Grand Rapids, Mich.-based firm that tracks market share for the recreational vehicle industry.
