Former Enron Chairman Lay to Invoke Fifth Amendment before Congress.

Feb. 11--WASHINGTON--For the second time in as many weeks, former Enron Corp. Chairman Ken Lay will not answer questions from committees investigating the company's collapse, his spokeswoman said Sunday night.

"Under instruction of counsel, he has decided to plead the Fifth Tuesday," spokeswoman Kelly Kimberly said of Lay's plans to invoke his constitutional protection against self-incrimination. "It was an important decision, and he had to weigh all of his options carefully."

She declined to comment further.

Lay has been subpoenaed to testify before the Senate Commerce Committee on Tuesday and the House Financial Services Committee on Thursday. His...
