AT&T Says Its Network Upgrade Will Boost Speed, Efficiency.

Feb. 12--AT&T Corp. rolled out some network improvements Monday that it says will allow it to reroute traffic faster in case of disaster. But perhaps more important to its bottom line, the technology will let AT&T serve its business customers with greater speed and efficiency, the company said.
And helping midsize and large business customers is critical for the Basking Ridge telecommunications giant as it moves to divide into four separately traded companies: AT&T Business; AT&T Consumer; AT&T Wireless, which spun off last year; and AT&T Broadband, which plans to merge with rival Comcast Corp.
