Federal Court Takes Control of Plano, Texas-Based Credit-Card Services Firm.

Feb. 15--A federal district court has taken control of a Plano-based credit-card services company after it was accused of withdrawing unauthorized fees from its clients' bank accounts.
U.S. District Court Judge Paul Brown of Sherman took the action Monday after the Federal Trade Commission accused Certified Merchant Services of altering clients' fee rules after their contracts were signed. The company, using different names, would then take the fees from clients' bank accounts, the FTC said. The agency has not said how much money was involved.
