Omaha, Neb.-Based Rail Firm Picks Construction Company to Build New Base.

Feb. 18--Union Pacific Corp. has selected an Atlanta-based construction company to build its new headquarters in downtown Omaha.

The Omaha-based rail giant has signed an agreement for Holder Construction Corp. to be general contractor, said Bob Turner, U.P. senior vice president of corporate relations. Holder is a private construction company founded in 1960.

Holder, in turn, has hired the Hawkins Construction Co. of Omaha to be its local partner.

Union Pacific's new headquarters will be built on the block bounded by Dodge, Douglas, 14th and 15th Streets. The company plans to consolidate 4,000 employees into the 19-story headquarters.
