Oregon State University President Looks to Future.

Feb. 18--The University of Oregon's president said one of his goals was to recruit more international students. Eastern Oregon University's president talked of building a new dorm to handle growth. Southern Oregon University's president spoke of boosting student retention.
But the president of Oregon State University busted the noncompetitive spirit at a recent higher ed board meeting with his message.
"I'll point out that our enrollment has grown over 4,000 students in the last five years. I'll point out that the grade-point average of incoming students is not only the highest at OSU, but it's the highest ever recorded in the state system, as far as we know,"...
