Feb. 20--FORT MILL, S.C.--Three electric companies forming a regional transmission organization have withdrawn applications with public service commissions in the two Carolinas until they get guidance from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

The companies, Duke Energy, CP&L and South Carolina Electric and Gas, remain committed to forming GridSouth, which constructed a $35 million headquarters on Munn Road in Fort Mill.

The companies will file revised applications with the S.C. Public Service Commission and the North Carolina Utilities Commission when FERC decides how the company should be structured, according to a written statement.
