Mar. 8--WORK BEGINS ON CITYLIGHTS PAVILION: Construction officially began Thursday on CityLights Pavilion, a new amphitheater on the western edge of Pepsi Center's grounds. Barry Manilow will open the 5,000-seat venue's summer 2002 concert season June 14. CityLights Pavilion is being built by a partnership between Clear Channel Entertainment and Kroenke Sports Enterprises, owner of Pepsi Center. A "tent" -- 65-foot-high peaks of Teflon-coated fiberglass that will cover the seating area -- will be erected April 18.
