Second BP Veteran Cites Claims of Poor Maintenance.

Mar. 13--As the Senate debates opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling, two veteran oil workers have alleged a host of safety and maintenance problems at the nearby Prudhoe Bay oil field.

A second BP whistle-blower this week met with staff members for Sens. Joseph I. Lieberman, D-Conn., and Bob Graham, D-Fla., claiming BP has serious maintenance backlogs and employee shortages that could worsen spills at North America's biggest oil field.

"Working for BP is like working for a drunk driver that is your boss and insists on driving you home," BP worker Robert Brian said on Tuesday.
